Rana Plaza

Here’s a poem and a write-up from Inayah on the Rana Plaza tragedy. Thanks Inayah!

Rana Plaza

Cracking stones,

Breaking walls,

Busy workers in every hall.

Tired eyes and moving hands,

Working as hard as they can stand.

Trying hard to get pay,

Tumbling down it went one day.

On April 24, 2013, there was a factory collapse in Dhaka, Bangladesh.  Many people died that day or became disabled, and most of them were women.  Many of those women’s children are now orphans because of that tragedy.  I wrote the poem from the perspective of someone who was there and describes the happenings in Rana Plaza.

There is still hope left; you and I can help the survivors, their families and the orphaned children.  Help today in any way you can and be the light that shines in someone’s life.  Join us!
