My favorite summer time activity is when I go to the pool to cool down. When my cousin and I go to the pool we wave hello under water. One time last summer I had a friend over and my cousin was over too. My cousin and friend all waved hello under water. It was really fun. One time me and my cousin made up a game called WASP ALERT! It’s when we swim under water to the steps/ladder of the pool. Sometimes we just stay under water until the wasp or bee is gone. Also my cousin taught me how to do a HANDSTAND under water!! My cousin can also do a summer-sault under water. I tried to do it but I ended up doing a HANDSTAND. I had a swim ring so I swam to the other side of the pool and I also passed five feet. I was a little bit scared when I passed five feet. I was scared that the air would come out of the swim ring but I was happy that it did not. When I got to the other side of the pool I was a little bit cold so I got out and back in. That is what I do if I am cold. Also on the other side of the pool I thought it was going to be deeper but it was the same!
We also have a pool that we would like to put up but it has a hole in it. We think a raccoon made the hole. When my cousin and I found out we were so sad. My dad said we needed to patch it up. He also said we needed to BUY the patches. I said “why can’t we just use big BAND – AIDS?!! He said that they will not be strong enough and we don’t even have big band – aids. Last year when we had the pool up, the pool water sometimes turned green. Then I thought of something. I asked if he could take down the small pool from the garage. He took it down but told us that the water was going to be cold. I said that we will just pour a bucket of hot water in. But instead we poured tiny cups filled with super hot water. When we put at least ten cups of water we thought it was going to be warm enough but it was still cold!! We just walked around in the pool until we were bored. When we got out we ran up stairs and took a warm bath.
Also once we went to one of my parents’ friends’ house and they have a pool. My cousin and I were glad that there were kids there. We played water tag but there was a deep end so me and my cousin held on to a swim ring or a noodle. We also practiced wasp alert. Once in their pool we put a pair of goggles in the bottom of the deep end (10 feet) and we waited for it to come up. When it did not come up we all started to laugh. Once on 4th of July we had our pool up and a lot of people were over to celebrate.
I got so excited. I kept on getting out of the pool and back in. Also people kept on swimming under me so I got a little bit scared. I ran in the pool but I was to slow and I got more scared. After a while I got so scared that I just got out of the pool.
I hope we will be able to put up our pool this summer so that I can have my friends over and cool down and most importantly have fun.
