My Dream Job — Sriman

You probably wonder why you wanted something and you do something to work for it. Well, that’s the same thing with jobs! You work hard in your childhood so that when you become an adult, you can have a job you’ve always wanted. I’ve always dreamed of being a weathermen when I grow up. It is because I get to study about the earth’s atmosphere, predict the weather, and inform about it on the news.

Weathermen study about the earth’s atmosphere, which is what I’ve always wanted to do. They study about what the earth’s temperature will be like and what the cause is. They observe what is around on earth and learn to see carefully what type of weather or a storm we’re going to have, such as, if we are going to have a snowstorm or a hurricane. They also do an experiment about it by doing an experiment using a scientific method. For example, let’s say that I do an experiment on the earth’s atmosphere, but first, I guess what is going to happen. After the experiment, I conclude to what happened to see if I’m right or wrong.

Although weathermen study about the earth, they also predict the weather. They do it by using different tools, such as, thermometers, barometers, and anemometers. They use these tools to measure atmospheric conditions, which occured in the past and in the present, and apply the information to create an educated guess in the future. For example, say if a weatherman measures with a thermometer and finds out that it reads fifteen degrees. Then, he would guess that it will be freezing and will be cold outside. Weathermen also monitor data from the past, which helps them track changes in the weather through time. It also helps them in what they are going to do in the future. Weathering predictions help them use these tools, but also, they help them to see if they are correct or not and inform about it.

Last, but not least, weathermen inform about the weather on the news. They do it by broadcasting about it. Broadcasting is when weathermen interpret and report the weather. They inform people who are curious to know about it through TV, radio, or newspaper. For example, say if a person reads the newspaper about what the weathermen told that it will be raining tonight. Then, the weathermen wrote it to advise everybody to stay indoors and stay dry. Another example might be that if a family heard a weathering forecast on the radio, one morning, while eating breakfast, that there will be a snowstorm from this afternoon to tonight, and that the schools and offices will be closed the next morning because of it. Then, the weathermen meant everyone to stay indoors and stay warm since everyone could freeze to death outside. Weathering forecasts are like presentations because we tell everyone what is going to happen on the news.

This job is fun because I get to study about the Earth’s atmosphere, predict the weather, and inform about it on the news. I will call this as the best job ever for me.
